European Union leaders (BE) will meet on March 25th and 26th at a two-day summit that will be held through video conference due to the deterioration of the epidemiological situation in Europe.
It is scheduled for new US President Joseph Biden to join EU leaders in a video connection on the first day of the summit, with which he will discuss the future of transatlantic co-operation.
Summit agenda to also include fight against COVID-19, EU relations with Russia, Turkey, as well as economic issues.
Before the meeting, EU leaders say the current top priority is to speed up vaccines across the Union, which means strengthening production and distribution of vaccines.
European Council President Charles Michel will inform EU leaders about his recent contacts with Russian President Vladimir Putin, while a strategic debate on EU-Moscow relations is expected at the upcoming physical meeting of the European Council.
The heads of state and government of member states will also review the situation in the eastern Mediterranean, as well as opportunities within the framework of EU engagement with Turkey.
The second day of the EU leaders' conference is traditionally dedicated to economic issues, strengthening the role of the euro and single market, and this time the digital agenda will be discussed.
