The opening of the Kosovo Embassy in Jerusalem expresses an important political stance that recognises Israel's occupied territories in Jerusalem and its internal contractive policy.
The embassy opening decree was signed by Mr. Hashim Thaci during the time that he was the country's president, but there was no mention of Jerusalem as location.
Who decided to open the embassy in Jerusalem is not known, but it is believed that this was also done to enable the silent violation of another vow for the future ruler Albin Kurti, Periscope.
With the opening of the embassy, Kosovo has followed the route leading from the United States of America. Besides the United States, only Guatemala has opened embassys in Jerusalem. This only makes our country the third in the world that has taken such a step and the first Muslim state that makes such an important geo-strategic alignment.
The Czech Republic has also opened diplomatic offices in Jerusalem, viewed as an embassy of its own.
The Beden administration has supported the step taken by Donald Trump's administration, and is now expected to begin lobbies so that other states can open embassies in Jerusalem, recognising the city as Israel's capital. /Periscope
