Organisers have estimated that 300 thousand people have joined this year for the week of engines, however, a lower figure since 500 thousand are usually collected.
We knew there would be fewer people coming, because of COVID-19, more because of the financial difficulties the pandemic has caused to people”, said Janet Kersey, the parade organiser.
To lure people, the city temporarily allowed locals to fill up to 60% of capacity.
Daytona is trying to avoid what happened last August in Sturgis, South Dakota, where a similar money was linked to thousands of cases of people infected with coronarys.
The parade is being held while some countries have decided to reopen, as well as the performance of the vaccine process in the country.
But it seems that bikers are not very interested in anti-Condavid measures.
