Germans are increasingly impatient for restrictive measures introduced because of the coronary, and the governments of European Union countries have been criticised for slow population vaccination and difficulties in securing the vaccine.
Sahin, founder of the German company BioNTech, believes these problems are temporary, that it is possible to vaccinate 70 percent of Germans by the end of September, and that the virus will not be such a problem then.
“In many European countries and the United States, we will no longer need general closures until the end of summer,” said Sahin to the Welt am Sontag newspaper, adding: “There will be viruses and mutations, but this will not scare us. ”
So far, almost nine percent of Germany's population has received a dose of the vaccine. In Britain more than 50 percent of citizens received a dose.
