The northern part of Kosovo still spends electricity that residents do not pay, but has cost over 10m euros to COST, only the last two months.
All these unpaid bills constitute about 6% of the total spent in the entire country.
That only amounts to 2% less than Gjilan and the region.
From January to October, including South Mitrovica and the region, an estimated 733 thousand megavats have been spent in this part of the country. And it still doesn't start winter when demand increases.
The biggest spender remains the Pristina district with over 1m and a half megawatts, or about 30% of total.
The use of electricity increases as we approach winter. After the capital region comes those of Prizren's Ferizaj that last month has spent 14%, respectively, of the 13% energy coming from KEDS.
Gjakovars are proving to be the most thrifty in this area, along with the gynens, whose districts have been used by 9% of the current.
KED spokesman Viktor Buzhala, says consumption has even gone out of expectations, especially during winter when citizens are angry with electrical equipment.
The total bill of all districts within a month during the cold season is over 30m euros.
They could increase for about 40% by April of next year, after the Energy Regulatory Office reviews the electricity price due to the energy crisis.
