The Kosovo Gastronomous Association (SHGK) and the Oda of Kosovo Hotelery and Tourism (OHTK) have decided on 15 December to protest due to lack of financial support, denial of the right to work and unwillingness for meetings and resolution findings by the Government of Kosovo.
Representatives of both associations at a news conference said the protest would start at 1: 00 a.m. before the government, as it imprisoned them and I am not giving them bread.
Kosovo Gastronomers' Association Secretary Arian Vranica said that after many attempts to exploit democratic ways in terms of their demands and the lack of a Kosovo Government strategy to help gastronomy.
“Not having a vision and a strategy on the part of the Government of Kosovo in relation to gastronomy, has forced us to use democratic ways, the organisation of the protest that we have warned on December 15th, at approximately 1st before the government”, he said.
Vranica said the government has imprisoned them and is not giving them bread.
Kosovo Hotel and Tourism Oda Chairman Hysen Sugujevo said they are preparing for this protest.
“This protest is not of our own choice but has been imposed because we have exhausted all opportunities to continue contact and continue talks with the relevant Government and ministries, but we have encountered them in deaf ears and we have been subjected to this protest, so that we invite all businesses that belong to the field of hotel and tourism to join us, estradas join us, representatives of wedding halls, representatives of this <x1 sector, he said.
According to him, these sectors were the most attached during the time of the pandemic
“We also help, that means what it took of 420 million, it hasn't even started, so it's not just about extending schedules, police hours, or opening parties, but also a lot of other factors have influenced us to take this step”, he said.
At this conference they were told they were not subsidised, denied labour rights and ignored for meetings.
