The committee has specifically urged citizens over 12 years of age to be vaccinated without wasting time against COVID-19
Following the epidemiological situation related to COVID-19, the variants in circulation and , with the aim of protecting public health of the population, over the next week the measures will be reviewed in force and will take other measures, according to the need and developments related to COVID-19”, the MSH report said.
Part of this meeting, which has been discussed on developments following the identification of the new coronary variant, Omitron (B.1.1.529) originally in Africa and then even in several countries outside the continent, has been virtually Health Minister Rifat Latifi, who is located abroad.
The meeting concluded that the situation with pandemics in countries in the region, Europe and wider have deteriorated in recent weeks and, despite the number of cases of COVIID-19 in Kosovo, is small in recent weeks, the situation is unstable, in particular given the fact that there are two variants in circulation (Systemic Delta is still dominant and variant Delta Plus), while the first information speaks that the alternative version of SARS COV-2, Omitron, is characterized by multiple mutations, rapid spread, and there is little information about its resistance to vaccines.”
To that end, it was urged by the country's citizens to implement measures in force, to be vaccinated until responsible institutions, such as Kosovo Police and responsible inspectors, were required to carefully monitor and undertake all necessary actions for implementing measures and decisions in the application of the Law for preventing and fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Kosovo, in all branches of the economy and educational and institutional activities.
