Chairman The PDK, Memli Krasniqi, has wished Albanian-language Alphabet Day on the occasion of the 923th anniversary of holding the Monastery Congress.
Through a Facebook post, Krasniqi says the Monastery Congress is an event of extraordinary national character and a crucial and determining turn for Albanians' future in the range of Western civilisation.
“Marking November 22nd, Alphabet's Day, we look forward to all those intellectuals and natives who exceeded the barriers of time, becoming together in the national call to bring to light the writing of the Albanian language. Despite all the obstacles and circumstances of the day, they were held together to establish a crucial tool in the liberation of the national consciousness, which awareness would climax even with the political liberation of our nation. ”, he writes.
Onward, leader of The PDK, notes that the Albanian language has kept the Albanian people united for centuries, and awareness carried through writing Albanian has been the foundation of the national liberation project.
The liberation of our political conscience with the writing, reading and articulating of consciousness has been a precondition for political liberation, which, although unjustly too late, in Kosovo occurred only once and in June 1999, following the glorious and fair war of the Kosovo Liberation Army and our allies”, Krasniqi writes.
