This project was no longer mentioned by anyone. Even from Prime Minister Kurti when he was in Mitrovica.
Periscop has learned that the reason why they no longer mentioned it was because the Government had realized that Bedri Hamza himself, former minister of the Financials, is signatory to that project.
This facility has to do with the support programme for irrigation and sewering for rural areas, the 6th exit phase.
The memorandum of co-operation was signed between former Finance Minister Bedri Hamza and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development President Samantha Chakrabarti in May 2018.
At present, however, the Government has put two points to Mitrovica in order as reviews of initiatives to negotiate opportunities resulting from the agreement signed by Bedri Hamza.
At the 25th point of today's Government Meeting Day agenda, a review of the Agency for Negotiation of the Credit Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Investment Bank “for the Blackwater Development Project in Mitrovica” is envisioned, and at point 26 the review of the Credit Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the “Water Development Development of the Zeza Water Development project in Mitrovica”
Bedri Hamza's successor to Kosovo Government, Iron Murati, before the citizens of Mitrovica had presented the project signed by former Prime Minister Bedri Hamza as the Kurti Government project for Mitrovica.
In the memorandum of co-operation, Article 1 says: “This memorandum aims to provide a framework for co-operation between the Ministry of Finance and the Bank with the aim of supporting municipalities and the Cooms in relation to the necessary improvement of the Municipal and Environmental Infrastructure Infrastructure and the improvement of municipal services and public services, as well as the commitment to the distribution of Gelbrax1> Cities.
Under the deal, Article 2, Article 2.3 says that “within this Memorandum of Understanding, funds of up to 50m euros have been earmarked to finance the construction of new sewage treatment plants in the cities of Gjilan and Mitrovica”.
In the Kosovo Assembly Speaker, Minister of Finance, Labour and Transfers, Iron Murati, had reasoned and presented the bill, saying they are in an effort to advance development and improve infrastructure in the water sector in rural and urban areas, not stressing that this project was signed and agreed by former Finance Minister Bedri Hamza, now candidate for Mitrovica chairman.
