He had been laid off earlier this year, as he was suffering for the second time from lung cancer, writes Independent, broadcasts the Express newspaper.
“James died peacefully at the Darrant Valley Hospital last night, with family members near the bed”, the family statement said.
The family reported that James was in the hospital from Sunday when the situation quickly deteriorated. Family members thanked the medical staff for caring for the already late husband.
Former British opposition chief Keir Starmer was declared to have died. He struggled with his illness with dignity and bravery. I am extremely sad about his death and I express my condolences to his wife and children”, Starmer said.
The father of three children, Brokenshire, was first diagnosed with lung cancer in 2018, but after receiving successful treatment, he was appointed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in February last year.
However, he was forced to withdraw from his role in the government in January of this year after learning that his cancer has returned. /
