This is because the resignation does not match the Standard Operation Procedures, which predict that the police officer in cases of voluntary resignations should submit it a month ago.
According to sources from the IndexOnline newspaper, Qalaj has been ordered to appear in office, threatening to initiate the disciplinary procedure.
Qalaj yesterday declared he would be a member of the Democratic Party:
I have many friends in this party who have contributed to different stages of liberation of the country. I've had a hard time resigning from the police, it was an emotional decision”, he said.
Rashit Qalaj has been dismissed from the position of Kosovo Police Director General on October 16th 2020 by Prime Minister Hoti.
Qalaj was appointed head of the Kosovo Police on August 28, 2018.
