Agim Veliu after the contracting statements in Periscope: I didn't mean for the physical appearance of Vjosa Osman

Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Agim Veliu's statement regarding the president's task leader, Vjosa Osmani, for Luljeta Demoll from the Kosovar Centre for Gender Studies is “mizonist and has to do with a hatred, a dislike and a distrust of women in politics<1>. Commenting on a statement by Osman, [...]
Commenting on a statement by Osman, that in the Democratic League of Kosovo, it would be returned if the current party leadership had left, Veliu said in a statement for Periscope in Kosovo that he did not know Osman “is so large that he needs enough space that a head should leave to see her”.
In this statement, he declined to comment on what it meant.
Meanwhile, asked by rel to clarify his statement, Veliu said he has alluded to Osman's <x0 political power”, rather than its appearance.
However, Egnessa Vitita, Osman's adviser, commenting on Veliu's statement, said the least “that should now happen is your immediate dismissal (Velius)”.
“... to covet political protagonism by applying lullism, sequencing and misogination is completely unforgivable, inhuman, unacceptable. It's disgusting! ”, she said via a Facebook post.
However, Demolli in a response to REL, says such statements, alluding to Osman's appearance, are <x0-> inciting, entering hate language”.
“Life in politics is seen as being dominated by men and it would be better for Agim Veliu to support women to enter politics with a more democratic language and not with such a language, because we see clearly they are afraid of good women and afraid of women's votes”, Demolli says.
Demolli appeals that such statements should not be made, as she says, discourage women from being locked up in politics.
Also, these statements reduce the ambition of women, decomposing young women to lock in politics”, she said.
Free Europe Radio has also called for reaction from the Women's MP. The chairman of this group, Vlora Limani-Hynunni of LDK, said she was unaware of Veliu's statement.
Even after it was announced with the contents of the declaration, Limani-Heanun said that the group's co-ordination is needed for the response.
Of course we need to see if this is a statement like you read, you'll be sending the Women's Group” statement, she said. Until the publication of this scripture, the Group of Women MPs has not reacted.
In July 2020, Osman was dismissed from leading positions in the LDK. The LDK's General Council made that decision following its party leader, Isa Mustafa, under whom Osmani violated party status when he voiced opposition to the Avdullah Hoti-led government.
Although a LDK candidate for prime minister in the past elections, Osman rejected the coalition's collapse with Vetevendosje Movement and was declared against forming the new government led by Avdullah Hoti, its co-party.
Osmani has also faced a lynching campaign in the past, where pictures of people in Serbian police uniforms were published, one of whom was told that he was Vjosa Osman's father.
Osman himself denounced these publications, calling them lynching tendencies.
In July 2020, Osman, who is also chairman of the assembly, had a verbal clash with LDK deputy Xhavit Uka, the case he then presented to the police as the “physical threat”.
The attacks on Osman are not the only ones against leading women who are part of politics. The target of offenses has often been former Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga.
Luljeta Demolli of the Kosovar Centre for Gender Studies says politicians in Kosovo are using the insult as “by working” and that insults are so frequent that it is impossible to respond to anyone.
