Two of the most important and vital resources for Kosovo, such as Trepca and Wjman, are expected to be the topic of negotiations tomorrow at the September 4th meeting in Washington between Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti and Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq, Kosovas reports.
It would be a disaster to discuss these two national assets, university professor Mazum Baraliu said, until he showed that there is reliable information that will be discussed in Trepca and Wejan between the Kosovo and Serbian parties in Washington and 7 September in Brussels.
Foreign policy recognisers call on the Kosovo government to be cautious, not tolerating in any form to be put on the table of the Weiman and Trepca discussions.
Although the expert on economics supporting the Kosovo delegation, Muhamet Mustafa has told Kosova Preis that there is no danger to Kosovo's national assets, according to him, all arguments are on Kosovo's side.
However, according to Mustafa, the focus on these negotiations will be on economic co-operation, which does not rule out the eventual possibility of various demands from Serbia.
And university professor Mazbul Baraliu tells Kosova Prees that with this delegation, there cannot be expected any decent, literal and serious representation. Teka adds that anything unexpected can be expected, but may be at the expense of Kosovo.
While the researcher at “Demokracy Plus”, Emir Abrashi tells Kosovo that in this process, Kosovo should be open to an agreement, but it should not necessarily sign any agreement that is put before it including national assets.
Abrashi adds that although it is publicly said that they will not be placed at the table of tripca and Wyman discussions, the Serbian side has an interest to put these two issues into question.
Researchers at “Demokracy Plus”, Abrashi adds nothing wrong with the idea of creating a free economic zone in northern Kosovo, but stresses that this should be done with bilateral agreements and under the management of the Republic of Kosovo.
