The government has decided to do research on the site -- one of 600 from World War II -- as much as is believed to exist in Slovenia, as the area will be flooded in part after the new power plant's commission, the Slovenian news agency STA reports.
The head of the government commission, Uros Kosir, said today that the remains of at least 139 victims killed have been discovered from August 25th to today.
The executions were believed to be carried out by Yugoslavia's People's Protection Corps (KNOJ).
KNOJ was established based on marshal directive Josip Broz-Tito on August 15, 1944. The Corps was disbanded in January 1953 and its jurisdiction was taken over by the Yugoslav People's Army.
