Palestinian Ambassador to Serbia Mohammed Nabhan has said Palestine will not recognise Kosovo in any way.
“We do not recognise Kosovo, not just the cause of love towards Serbia. We respect international law and Resolution 1244, which treats Kosovo as part of Serbia. There is a resolution 478 which prohibits all states from opening embassies or recognising Jerusalem as the capital of Israel”, Nabhan said of Serbian television, “Noova S”, as he added that Kosovo could actually have more damage from this agreement than Serbia.
There are about 40 Islamic states that recognise Kosovo, and there is reconciliation among nearly all Islamic states that they will cease co-operation with any country that opens the embassy in Jerusalem. There is a danger that Kosovo will be recognised by about 40 Islamic states, and then what is left with”, he has said.
He has added that his country, although directly endangered by Serbia's decision to move the embassy to Jerusalem, will not take countermass, though he has ordered that courage should be shown and that “o” be said to be the US.
There will be many decades of good reports between Serbia and Palestine. Our report is such that it is not based on temporary documents or Qaeda hocé, our reports are principled. I don't expect that this has happened to disturb our reports and I don't want it to come to that, even though serious damage has been caused. We will look at talks with our friends on how we harmonise our attitudes and avoid unpleasant things”, Nabhan told Serbian television, “Noova S”.
