At the initiative of MP Elmi Recica, two paintings by painter Haki Jakli are being displayed today in the lobby of the Republic of Kosovo's Parliament, in which the subject of the found and victims of sexual violence during the war is addressed.
During his speech, MP Elmi Recica highly appreciated Professor Haki Jakley's figure, praising that the paintings have high artistic level.
Citing their exposure to the Parliament's environment as a special occasion, MP Recica said they reflect the history of our recent war.
I've submitted a request to the Parliament's Headship, which approved it. These two very precious and very meaningful works are a reflection of a story we've been through. Through them, evidence is given who was killed, massacred and violated”, Recica stressed.
Thanks to the Assembly that has allowed the exposure of its works, painter Haki Jakley said the exhibition deals with the found and raped women -- topics that, according to him, bother our society.
In these paintings I've shown my feelings for women raped during the war, my sorrow, which has led me to realising them. I strongly believe that we're all going to engage the found ones to come to their homes”, Jakley stressed.
Even MP Blerta Deliu-Codra's works named of special importance, because, as she said, topics addressed, also demanding that these topics be further addressed by Kosovo politics.
“Victims of sexual violence and the unsurgeons distract Kosovo society, so we must contribute to further treatment of these topics from politics in Kosovo”, she stressed.
