Northern Korea has pledged to punish local officials due to the consequences of a typhoon on the eastern coast of the communist country.
A Workers' Party newspaper blamed authorities in the coastal town of Wonsan for failing to prepare for Typhoon Maysak and accused them of maintaining irresponsible stance.
The paper did not show how many people have disappeared, hurt, or died, but wrote that there are dozens of people who have suffered from this natural disaster, the BBC writes.
According to this newspaper, it is alleged that local officials have failed to comply with orders issued by the ruling party.
It has been impossible to prove whether officials have ignored these orders or whether they are being treated unjustly by the ruling party with the intention of calming the public.
Typhoon Maysak caused damage in northern Korea just one week after the country was hit by another storm, Typhoon Bavi.
North Korea is very sensitive to flooding because of poor deforestation and infrastructure.
