Gjilan Mayor Lutfi Haziri says he continues to defend his idea that the Presevo Valley should join Kosovo and solve the problems Albanians have in the Serbian state.
He said Albanians in the Valley have been enduring politically for a long time, so it is also the time when the solution from the state of Kosovo should be offered.
“I am defending my cause because it is legitimate right, and the end Kosovo has the obligation to protect the political rights of Albanians east of Kosovo as it should be protected in all its territory. We have to solve their problem sooner or later because it's our problem, it's not us or them. There are also incorrectly left because of the Vienna principles remaining outside the borders of 1974”.
Of course, they have also shown political patience, solidarity, understanding and are waiting for one day to be solved. It is not being done at the expense of anyone, and much less at the expense of Kosovo, but rather it becomes more prosperous and larger”. Haziri said Albanian municipalities have the right to decide to join Kosovo, and in exchange can be given to Serbia Leposaviqi with 17 villages that, according to him, touch no Albanian family.
“Verde in Kosovo, where it belongs and where it always has. The principle of municipal borders is not affected in the part of Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc because the principle of municipal borders and dedictation and the principle of private property of whom it belongs and the cadastral principle. These are the three main principles that most Albanians there have the right to decide, and they have decided by referendum earlier”.
“In the meantime, Leposaviqi, with 17 villages attached to Kosovo's Mitrovica in the old days, has been an integral part of Kosovo, but it is part which affects no family, property or Albanian. This is the right choice of both sides”. The LDK deputy chairman said solving problems with Serbia is done only peacefully, but that even his cause should not be intimidated.
I don't know why I should be afraid of this solution because the problem we have with Serbia is territorial and war. These are chosen only with peaceful talks. Serbia has extra options. She has even accepted this Kosovo that is today because they work to turn Kosovo into full administration”.
