“Europe has much work to do to stabilise the situation and control the transmission. Generally within this vast region, we are seeing a disturbing increase in the disease”, he said.
Dr Maria Van Kerkhoves, O Technical Leader The BSH in Coddy-19 said: “We are at the end of September and we haven't started the flu season yet, so what we're worried about is the possibility of these trends going in the wrong direction”.
They also warned that the global death toll could reach up to 2 million people before a successful vaccine is widely used.
