The Special Court in Tirana has sentenced Arber Cekain to 14 years in prison for international narcotics trafficking.
The prosecution had sought 21 years in prison, which the court confirmed, but because of the cut trial, Chekaj seized a third sentence.
Cekaj denied the event two years ago, when 613kg of cocaine from Colombia, which passed from Italy to Durres Port and later at the Czech warehouse, were found within a banana container.
The court also ruled for other members of the file, where Donaldo Lusaj was sentenced to 10 years and 8 months in prison, while Armando Pezak was sentenced to 8 years and 8 months in prison. /A2
