The result marks a step forward for the genocides that could be involved in prevention, identification of people at risk and therapy.
The discovery is based on the DNA analysis of over 700 patients with severe forms of disease and shows that in 3-4% of cases, severe forms depend on mutations blocking the production of type I interferon, while in 1011, %s of the cases have been identified autoantitrupas, so antibodies that attack the immune system they belong to.
The results strongly suggest that I-type interferone malfunctions are often the cause of the most critical forms of Covid-19”, Casanova noted, head of the Infectious Disease Human Genetics Laboratory at Rockefeller University in New York.
