Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Kadri Veselini has returned the response today to Kosovo's prime minister, who has demanded that the PDK delegate a representative in the dialogue process to be held 4 September in Washington and 7 September in Brussels.
Leader of The PDK, Kadri Veselini, through the official response, has reconfirmed the official and well-known stance of the PDK, that it strongly supports the US and EU engagement in the dialogue process as international strategic partners.
Wessel has said the PDK will exercise its constitutional role in the dialogue process, as the opposition in the Kosovo Assembly, but will not be part of the delegation.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo supports only a comprehensive and final agreement that is in line with its already recognised platform, which guarantees mutual recognition, state sovereignty, territorial integrity, unitary character of state and Kosovo membership at UN”, Veselini has said.
Full letter from PDK chairman Kadri Wessel to Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti:
Your Honor. Hoti,
I am writing in response to your letter about the participation of the Democratic Party of Kosovo at the September 4th meetings in Washington and September 7th in Brussels.
The meeting, invited to the White House, in the United States, serves the dynamisation of the dialogue process. US involvement in dialogue is security and encouragement for the state of Kosovo. This is a new moment of use by the Republic of Kosovo. My position remains that where America is should be and Kosovo, because the United States of America, together with the European Union, are the most strategic partners of the Republic of Kosovo.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo will exercise its constitutional role in the dialogue process, as opposition to the Kosovo Assembly, but will not be part of the delegation.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo supports only a comprehensive and final agreement that is in line with its already recognised platform, which guarantees mutual recognition, state sovereignty, territorial integrity, unitary character of the state and Kosovo membership in the UN.
With respect,
Kadri Wessel
Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman
