Former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon has joined the world's leaders in seeking peace in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is threatening to plunge the world into fighting over territories and resources, religious and racial divisions.
Ki-Moon called for a unified world, bilateral prosperity and universal values. He claimed that it was time for the world to build bridges, not to build walls in order to have a unified world.
If we fail to unite as a world community, our existence will be threatened. Peace is not an exclusive issue for an individual or a nation. Peace is our common desire and a loving desire for a long time. I believe that lasting peace will be strengthened only when governments and civil society are close partners with each other”, Ki-Moon said.
