Kosovo Assembly MPs are voting for members of the Kosovo Judiciary Council.
The candidates' names are Driton Muharremi, Hashim Colkau, Hasim Sogojevo and Willard Bytyqi, who are in competition for KDK members, writes inFokus newspaper.
Commission for Legislation Chairman Shkemb Manaj said 25 candidates have applied.
The “contests have applied 25 candidates, out of them 19 Albanians and six from other communities. The commission has invited representatives of civil society and representatives of international institutions who oversee and support the commission's work on legislation to be launched. The process of interviewing candidates on the part of the commission has been fully transparent”, he said.
On 24 June this year, the Commission for Legislation has interviewed 24 candidates for members of the Kosovo Judiciary Council.
Manaj said that out of 24 candidates interviewed, the commission has praised Driton Muharremin with 86 points, Hashim Colak 85, Hasim Sogoyev and Vilard Bytyqi with 81.
“recommends Kosovo's Parliament for Voter four candidates for the position of member of the Kosovo Judiciary Council as defined by Article 108 paragraph 6, subparagraph 2 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, as follows, sir. Driton Muharremi, Hashim Colkau, Hasim Sogojevo and Wilard Bytyqi. The Assembly of the four candidates proposed for the position of member of the Kosovo Judiciary Council should elect two of them”, Manaj said.
The election of candidates for members of the KDR is by secret vote, and their mandate is five years old.
