Same as in the other parts of Pristina, KEDS is removing all electrical poles and placing the power grid completely underground even in Payton. Over 4,500 consumers of this neighbourhood will have modern, higher standards network.

KEDS there had inherited an extraordinary network and failed to meet the needs of the neighbourhood supply. The formation of narrow throats was further emphasized by the fact that Payton was known as a one - story neighborhood, and there are already dozens of tall buildings there. The cables of the stream were not enough to cope with all that increased demand, since they were overextended. But everything is already changing.

Already in specially opened cable channels, over 26 thousand feet of 20kV power cables are located throughout Payton. Consumers will also have alternative reserve lines. This means that if their exit is decomposing, the supply immediately passes to alternative exits and the consumer is not faced with energy shortages.

So, through modernisation of the network, consumers will receive markedly more quality and secure electricity services.

Millions of investments in Payton are part of the megaproject that KED is developing for Pristina. Most of the Middle Tension network and a significant portion of the low tension by next year will be placed underground. After the work is finished, 90 thousand out of Pristina's 120 thousand consumers will have alternative supplies.

Distributive capacity will be doubled through the replacement of all cables, which will be new and with a capacity of 20 kV out of 10 kV while they are now.

Investments total 17m euros. After these investments are completed, the electricity network in the capital will be modern and compatible with the most advanced European networks. Pristina will no longer need investment in the distributive electricity network for the next 30 years.
