Health Minister Armenmen Zemaj has hosted the chairman of the Kosovo Competition Authority, Valon Prestreshi, and the director of this institution, Sakip Imer.

In this case, Zemaj said that following the license of the labs for conducting tests for Coronavirus, this process would be developed by respecting competition, not allowing monopoly.

He has added that this process will be monitored by responsible institutions, ensuring there will be no agreement on test prices.

He has even asked for licensed labs to enforce the laws in force so that it does not come to sanctions, warning of obtaining license.

“... After issuing a license for labs to run tests, this process will be developed by respecting competition, not allowing monopoly”.

This process will be monitored by all decision-making authorities. We have to make sure they don't make price deals.

“... I invite the licensed institutions to adhere to the rules, to avoid sanctions until obtaining license”.

While the chairman of the Kosovo Competition Authority, Valon Prestreshi, has assured Zemaj that they are willing to monitor this process so that citizens cannot be harmed, EO reports.

“...we will be ready to follow this process. We've taken all measures from the beginning of the pandemic”.

The “calls on licensed institutions for the price assignment to be done independently, not harming citizens”.

This meeting comes after the Board for License of Private Health Institutions' decision to allow testing services for SARS-Cov 2 in those institutions that have met the criteria required by the Ministry of Health.
