Such a post was met with numerous reactions from Greek citizens, who called it provocation.
According to them, instead of making posts commenting on the Turkish-Greece controversy of the Eastern Mediterranean, it is unacceptable to make such references to the Greek people. In their comments, they demand the resignation of the German ambassador.
“It is a shame to share such a post for a country that welcomes you, at such a time that we are spending” was one of the comments of Greek citizens.
After many reactions, Ambassador Rachel distributed a new post, “what is it that upsets you so much? What does Ali Pasha's story have to do with what's happening today?
