Gastronomers gather next week, have some requirements for Government

The owners of gastronomial businesses in Kosovo continue to be dissatisfied with the performance schedule the Government has set for them. In addition to extending schedules, they also seek financial assistance from the executive to attract losses that have hit this sector during the pandemic.

Kosovo Gastronomers' Association Chairman Petrit Kllokoqi has said that on Tuesday and Wednesday he will hold two meetings to come out later with a stance on their demands. He has proposed that a new package of economic recovery be created that would help businesses financially.

On Tuesday we have a meeting with Pristina gassronoms. On Wednesday we have a meeting with all Kosovo gastronomies. It will be representatives of the 23 municipalities in Kosovo and make the new decision, come out with a statement. The best solution would be to make a new package of recovery, even helping businesses because they're all in trouble. Like. If someone has a 300-euro employee, to take over 100 euros, or 150 euros who have received relief, because we have received sanctions. We're holding on to those sanctions. They're coming into control, they're looking at it all, so it's going to take a little bit of support because we're not working with a full capacity of”, he said.

Klokoqi has shown that gastronom requirements will also include them for extending work hours, from 10:30 as it is currently at 23:30 or 00: 00. He has stressed that the first demand remains the creation of a package that helps the sector's businesses, the Signal newspaper reports.

On Wednesday come representatives of gastronomy businesses from all over Kosovo to the Economic Ode and show. Number one, the goal is to create a new package of recovery as soon as possible. Once upon a time this is a key requirement, but it is understood that there is also a demand for increased hours. Because they're checking and closing down premises that are not respecting the measures, it's not necessary by 10:30, it could be as long as 00: 00 a.m. Or at least until 23:30.

But these demands, Klokoqi has said they are also being refused to be heard by government officials. He has said he cannot even contact members of the government cabinet to discuss the solution.

I can't even get my phone open. It must have been marked. I'm asking you for an appointment, I'm calling, yes... All the doctors are done. I'm about to deal with cases and hospitals, but let's talk about economics, that September” has been expressed as the chairman of gastronomials.

Klokoqi is also seeking solutions from the government to change the decision that gastronomy businesses work only on terraces, remembering that this will be impossible in the coming months.

What will we do when the time gets cold, in September, October? That's the problem. When winter comes, the cold, we cannot work on the terrace, and they are forced to grow. 80-90% of them. So we're looking for solutions from the government for the following months”, Klokoqi has said.

By late July, the Government had decided to extend for an hour and a half hours to operate all subjects offering gastronomy services (restants, coffees, nightclubs and similar ones). They were set to be banned from operating between 10:30 and 05 a.m. throughout Kosovo territory.

Outside this hour, they can work only in open spaces by respecting the 1.5m space distance between tables as well as the Take-away services, the decision says.
