Establishing American Senator Bob Dole's bust in Pristina today has awakened the United States Embassy's response in Kosovo.
“30 years ago Senator Dole came to Kosovo and made a promise: Freedom is coming. Democracy is coming. This promise was held and the United States has been standing by since then”, said in a Facebook post by the US Embassy in Pristina.
American Senator Bob Dole's bust was placed in the neighbourhood “Dardnia” in Pristina, on the road bearing his name.
30 years ago, on August 29, 1990, Senator Robert Dole, with six of his colleagues, visited Pristina, playing an incomparable role in internationalising Kosovo.
This visit marks a historic moment in American engagement in Kosovo and one of the biggest achievements in lobby of the Albanian-American community for Kosovo's cause.
