Djukanovic says Serbs being mixed up, calms citizens with words for stability

Montenegro's President Milo Djukanovic has reassured Malaysian citizens that there is still no danger to the country's security while the preliminary results in his country are expected. Moreover, he has accused Belgrade's media and politics of mixing in Montenegro's politics. Djukanovic, after voting in Podgorica, has said [...]

Djukanovic, after voting in Podgorica, has said he expects Montenegro's society to show maturity and responsibility in this election, and that they will be held in terms of absolute stability.

My “is that after that, Montenegro will continue to move on the road to economic and democratic development”, he said.

Asked whether tensions are higher today than before, Djukanovic has said tensions are trying to be driven by non-Montenegrin addresses.

Montenegro's “Society has passed some such temptations several times, so I don't see any danger to Montenegro's stability and the security of its citizens”, Djukanovic noted.

Asked whether, when talking about foreign intervention, it means official Belgrade, he said all media and Serbia's political scene participate in this.

While Prime Minister Markovic said he does not expect incidents and instability and sent a message to citizens that they are safe.

Some political parties are still trying to maintain tensions as a form of pressure on voters. I believe that during today, they will give up such a scenario, as Montenegro needs citizens who freely, independently, voluntarily decide who will represent them in the next four years. I do not expect incidents, I do not expect instability”, Markovic said.

If there are any, he added, institutions know what they should do in this case.
