Two couples in New York have demanded their right in court to hold weddings at the place they want and with the number of guests they want.
Pamela Giglia and Joseph Durek have set the wedding date on August 22nd. The couple are continuing the legal battle to oppose the executive order of Coddy-19, which limits weddings of up to 50 guests or fewer.
If this wedding is allowed to take place, it could be a big event”- warned Dr. Howard Zucker, state health commissioner, in a written statement.
Even if a country promises to implement social distance protocols, and ensure that guests wear masks all the time, there are practical limits to the ability that a country has to meet these big gatherings, where 175 friends and family members will be united from different countries”- writes Zucker.
Meanwhile, the court has allowed another couple, Jenna Di Martile and Justin Crawfod, to hold their wedding with a limited number of guests, because the date was set earlier.
Legal proceedings began again on July 31st, where two couples and Minister David Shamenita indicted Gov. Cuomo, State Attorney General Lettia James, District Executive Erie Mark Polocarz and County Health Department.
According to the complaint filed in the northern district of New York, the plaintiffs said officials were violating the constitutional rights of two couples by preventing their weddings by more than 50 guests.
