The Kosovo Assembly is voting for the election of chairman of the Regulatory Authority's Water Services Account. Of the three candidates selected by the commission, MPs will vote for one of them. Bastri Sallu, Ibrahim Krasniqi and Merita Shaqiri-Berisha are candidates who are in the race for chairmanship of the Regulatory Authority for Water Services.
The deputy chairman of the Functional Commission for Economics, Employment, Trade, Industry, Strategic Investments Deputy Chairman Dorothy Maloku said they have applied eight candidates. The leader has a three-year term, which is elected by Kosovo Parliament deputies with the possibility of re-election for only one term.
“Based on Article 42, 2 of Law 05L 042 for water service regulation, the relevant parliamentary commission has announced the 15-day competition. The Parliamentary Commission, after accepting the applicants' file, sends the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo at least two candidates for voting in the assembly. The Commission for Economics as a commission corresponding to June 17, 2020, made a decision on forming the panel for the selection of the AREU review commission's chairman in this composition: Andrew Shala from the leading initiative, Elbert Krasniqi from Vetevendosje, Dorothy Maloku from the Democratic League of Kosovo, Ferat Shala from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Pale Lekaj from AAK, Zoran Mojsilovic from the Serbian List and Adem Hoxha from 6+”, she said.
The competition has been opened by the Assembly of Kosovo since June 1st and is wrapped up on June 15th. Maloku has shown the names of three candidates who are being voted in the Kosovo Assembly.
After reviewing candidate apps were found to have applied eight candidates, six candidates have met formal conditions under the law and should be invited for an interview, while two candidates have failed to meet formal legal conditions and have been eliminated from the narrow list... Based on the heights of July 15, 2020, the commission after reviewing the panel report decided to propose the assembly and elect one of the three candidates proposed for chairmanship of the Commission's examination at the Water Service Regulatory Authority by three-year mandates following: Bastri Sa Godi, Ibrahim Krasniqi and Merita Shaqiri-Berisha”, she has announced.
