He has used such a case to criticise up-to-date governments for failing to whiteen their fate, Periscope follows.

Kurti has also declared that the focus from now on should be placed on the family of the missing, and that Kosovo must do its best to reveal their destiny.

These family members need care, support, and, above all, recognition of the continued damage that has been inflicted on them over the years. He writes.

He says that in his rulership the issue of the missing had taken priority, even though he did not reveal what steps were taken during the 100 days in office.

Full status:

On August 30th, the world marked International Day of Missing Ones. So with colleagues from Pristina, we visited the “Mothers' ex-x1> association in Gjakova.

The forced disappearance of humans has been used throughout the years (in wars and beyond) as a strategy that causes terror in society. The feeling of uncertainty stemming from this practice affects not only the relatives of the missing, but it also affects community and society as a whole.

In Kosovo, there are still 1641 persons missing from the last war. 21 years after the war ended, we know nothing of their fate. Never being the priority of any post-war government, the fate of the missing remains unresolved. Kosovo's state efforts to whitewash their fate have been either wrong or flawed, so unsuccessful.

The focus should now be on the family members of the missing. Kosovo must do its best to discover the fate of 1641 missing, but in addition, Kosovo should take care of family members who daily carry the pain of these crimes. These family members need care, support, and, above all, recognition of the continued damage that has been inflicted on them and is being inflicted over the years.

With the good government in spring 2020, we had a priority on the cause of the missing and their family, but our plan failed to complete it. We'll continue with our return.

Today on International Missing Day, we have five days before the meeting in Washington D.C. This meeting reminds us of one of the conversations we had with heroin mothers in Gjakova. One of us told us: "If you look in the eyes of mothers, they don't shed tears anymore. They bleed. Serbs should once apologize to us, send back the bodies of our loved ones, and then we can stop and think about forgiving us, right?

As never before, let us consider how little we have done about this war class and how much we owe them
