Since the beginning of the pandemic in Kosovo, where the first two cases to date have been recorded on March 13th have tested 50 thousand and 683 suspected cases with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
So far only 2.7.8% of the population of 1.8 million have been tested, according to the latest census in 2012.
Of the 50 thousand and 683 suspected cases, the total number of positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic is 13,334, where 9,473 persons have recovered and 516 deaths have been recorded, while active cases continue to remain even 3,345 cases.
During August alone in Kosovo, 5,000 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded.
Compared to neighbouring countries, only Serbia and North Macedonia have higher numbers with cases of infected and death toll. So far Serbia has 31 thousand and 282 positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic and recorded 710 deaths.
Northern Macedonia so far has 14 thousand and 293 cases of infected and 596 life loss.
Montenegro has the lowest number of cases confirmed with only four thousand and 777 positive cases and with only 96 deaths, while Albania has recorded nine thousand and 279 positive cases and 275 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
