Houses of elders in Spain were severely hit by pandemic, with a total number of domestic deaths of at least 28,300 people.
During our 59 years of marriage, both husband and wife, now both in their 80 ' s, had never lived so far away.
Cañomero spent the country's nationwide quarantine at the house she and Pérez once shared, overwhelmed by fear.
She was one of the first to arrive at the elders ' home when it reopened on June 22nd.
The couple kissed and embraced for several minutes through thin plastics and facial masks.
While, Beatriz Segura wore long gloves before embracing her 96-year-old mother, Isabel López, who also lives in Ballesol Puig of Fabra.
It was their first meeting since March 15th, when strict quarantine measures were exercised.
Segura said that she was eager to take her mother to a restaurant, and she replied that the first thing she wanted to do was go to a beauty salon.
