Male mushrooms who love only one pizza upstairs must now change their mind.
A Japanese study of Tohaku University, published in the International Journal of Cancer, shows that people who consume mushrooms periodically significantly reduce the risk of prostate cancer.
The study indicated in particular that mushrooms reduced the likelihood of this cancer in 50-year-old people eating lots of meat and dairy, and few fruits and vegetables.
A mushroom consumption once or twice a week reduces by research at 8% the risk of the disease, while a more frequent consumption causes this figure to reach 17%.
Prostatic cancer is one of the most characteristic of male gender, with statistics saying that more than 1 million new sufferers are registered annually.
