Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Ctete said today that extending an extraordinary national situation, linked to COVID-19's pandemic, is inevitable.
“We should be aware that the outcome of the state of emergency will paralyse the entire defence and prevention system, built in these difficult last months”, the prime minister said.
Currently, Italy's state of emergency expires on July 31st.
Cote added that the government is considering an extension of it until October, but also, it is open to alternative suggestions from parliament.
