The World Health Organization (OBSH) warned this week that the pandemic is not nearly finished, but in Czechia a holiday to give the choreography a symbolic “good-bye”.
Thousands of guests sat at a table that was 300 feet [500 m] long at Charles Bridge in Prague, until the various and many foods and drinks were brought from their homes.
There was no social distance at this party, something people in the countries that are trapped have a hard time understanding.
In Czechia, with 10 million inhabitants, there were fewer than 12,000 cases of Covid-19, until 350 people died.
Organiser of this event and owner of a coffee shop in the city of Ondrey Cobza has said this holiday was possible because of the lack of tourists in their town known as tourist points.
“We want to celebrate the end of the coronary crisis by letting people meet and show that they are not afraid to meet, that they are not afraid to take part of their neighbours' sandwich”, he has told AFP.
Places to attend this festival, which were to be reserved in advance, were completely busy.
Chekhia reacted very quickly to put the country in a jam, thus managing to avoid the worst of the pandemic.
Last week, the government allowed public gatherings with up to 1,000 participants. The pools, museums, zoos, and castles have been opened without restricting the number of visitors.
Restaurants, bars and pubs have been allowed to work for a month.
