Experts from Manchester University said some people have reported having poor hearings after being affected by the virus. Others have indicated that they have had a jingle in their ears. This comes after the loss of taste and smell was added to the official list of coronary symptoms.
Meanwhile, the University of Manchester research surveyed 121 adults admitted to Wythhenshawe Hospital. These were then questioned about their constant symptoms over an eight - week period after leaving the hospital.
Eight people reported a deterioration of their hearing, and eight others said they had noises in their ears.
Kevin Munro, Professor of Audiology at Manchester University said: “We already know that viruses such as measles, scythes, and meningitis can cause hearing loss, and coronary can damage brain - bearing nerves. It is possible, in theory, that David-19 could cause problems with parts of the hearing system, including middle ear”.
