Young people are not invincible in front of COVID-19 and should take the same precautions as the rest of the population, to protect themselves and others, WHO General Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebrrees said today.
We have said and repeated: young people can be infected, young people can die and young people can transmit the virus”, he insisted, during a press conference.
“It seems that the returns of cases in some countries are partly due to young people who have lowered their vigilance during the summer, in the northern hemisphere”, Ghebraesus added.
Pandemia has killed about 6700 people worldwide, and more than 17 million cases have been diagnosed since late December. / AT S-AFP/
