Kosovo has been fighting this deadly virus for five months now, and it is leaving behind major economic consequences.
Kosovo Communist Association Executive Director Saban Ibrahimi has said of Kosova Preris that at the last meeting with Kosovo Prime Minister, Kosovo municipal leaders have given support to Avdullah Hoti for all measures that may be taken in order to save the lives of citizens.
We all think together that the situation with Covid-19 in Kosovo municipalities is manageable. So there's no problem in managing the situation. Co-operation with the central level is generally correct. The Kosovo Communists Association is co-operating at the meeting of the antiCondavi-19 community, which is being led by Minister Amend Zemaj and co-chaired by Prime Minister Hoti”, he declares.
One of the demands of Kosovo municipalities is the increase in the number of adequate health staffs, since many of them have now been affected by the coronary.
Taking into account since the beginning of July, the number of infected is growing and considering that in the conversation we have had with municipal health directors, our professional health college, respectively, a certain percentage of doctors at the QKMF is infected with Covid-19, since all doctors are on the front line helping citizens. And for this reason even on the basis of the analysis of the Kosovo Communists Association that has been done in all municipalities, it was required that the number of relevant staff increase, so that they can deal with the Devvi-19” pandemic, Ibrahim said.
According to him, the personal revenues of Kosovo municipalities will have a drastic decline this year.
“Planifications made for this year to raise 82m euros from personal revenues will be impossible for them to collect. For this reason, all Kosovo municipalities have made the budget revision in order to see what the needs for preventing the spread of Covid-19 will be. Many tools from personal revenues, but also from municipal means have been dedicated and re-launched by other investments”, Ibrahim said.
From tomorrow, the Pristina municipality will start with Serological testing, while Ibrahim says these tests can soon be conducted in other municipalities as well.
Kosovo municipalities, among other things, are seeking a change in the Public Procure Law, as they say they are being unable to spend capital investment means.
