The 40 million-dollar mosque comes out without permission: Pristina municipality has not allowed overwork

The Great Mosque issue in Pristina has become a very hot topic that has split Kosovo society in two. Currently, its construction has begun, but in the Pristina municipality, they say BIK has not yet been granted permission for full construction, but only for the underground part. On July 15, he performed [...]
On 15 July, BIK head Naim Ternava announced they have started construction works on the central mosque in the capital. However, the municipality has not yet given him full permission.
BIK has applied for mosque construction permits in the Pristina municipality in April this year. Top state officials, including the president, party leaders and other officials, have been declared around the mosque yesterday after a protest took place, but Pristina municipality officials have refused to declare themselves on this issue.
Express from sources within the municipality teaches that BIK has been equipped with permission only for underground work, which means piloting construction space, but not for construction permits.
The central mosque, whose location is in the neighbourhood “dania” near the Kosovo Telekom facility, had become the topic of discussion between the Islamic Community of Kosovo and the Pristina Community for issuing permission for starting construction.
Construction of this mosque had preceded a series of protests by the Muslim community, which had demanded that this cult be built in front of the cathedral “Mother Teresa” in the court of the Philological faculty.
But after consultations between Pristina chairman and Kosovo's Islamic Community chief officer, consensus has been reached for the mosque to be built in the Ulpiana neighbourhood.
This mosque will be financed and built by the Turkish Islamic Community, while its cost is estimated to be 35m to 40m euros.
