The prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti, under the presentation of Paco's economic recovery measures as part of the government programme today, participated in the virtual forum organised by the American Economic Oda in Kosovo.
In the opening address, Prime Minister Hoti has introduced government priorities, measures that have been taken to manage the situation caused by the COVID 19 pandemic, as well as other issues that connect with political and economic currents in the country.
Prime Minister Hoti said government orientations are in two aspects of time, in the short and medium term through the package for economic recovery, and in the longer term where economic development bases will be established.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Hoti said it is of interest to create the necessary social consensus for the governing programme, which he stressed, has been approved in Government and distributed to all other actors.
Our key “Pokus remains economic recovery, but beyond that we have a beautiful detailed programme in specific areas of economy”, Prime Minister Hoti said.
At this virtual forum, Prime Minister Hoti said the Government of Kosovo would be focused on long-term economic development, building promotional policies for the private sector, tax policies, reducing informality, establishing investment Fund, paying off economic losses resulting from pandemic, as well as on foreign investments through the law for strategic investments.
Prime Minister Hoti, on this occasion, has said that the government during this year and next year envisions accession to the economyW a total of 1.2 billion euros as an infusion for economic development, of which already with budget revision, 384m euros have been mobilised.
Prime Minister Hoti on this occasion has presented 9 measures that have been envisioned under the package for economic recovery, such as 1. Relief of access in financing; 2. Tax burden reduction; 3. Measures for employment support; 4. Agriculture; 5. Agregate demand simulation measures; 6. Support for public companies for regular operation and capital investments of strategic importance; 7. The 2020 Budget Review and Relaxing of fiscal restrictions and public debt; 8. Supportary measures for the economy from the financial sector; 9. Mobilization for the financing of measures.
Prime Minister Hoti has also answered many questions asked by members of the American Chamber of Economics concerning economic development and steps the Government has taken in this regard.
