Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, through a post in his official profile, has cited phases through which the country has passed, from liberation to army creation.
The head of state says all those who sacrificed for Kosovo's freedom and independence should be honored for such a thing.
Meanwhile, he has said the Kosovo Army will soon be part of NATO.
Kosovo gained freedom 21 years ago. The political and social transformation of our country began in the first days of freedom. With agreements with our allies and NATO began deilitarisation and transforming the Kosovo Liberation Army into the Kosovo Protection Corps. After surviving aspirations for independence, in 2009 we established the Kosovo Security Force. At the end of 2018, we also established the Kosovo Army. Our army's journey was the journey of Kosovo's freedom and independence. Honor and respect for all the women and men who sacrificed everything for this day. We are proud of the Kosovo Army, which will soon be part of NATO's peaceful missions worldwide. ”, he wrote.
