Saniniu Laizer, 52, received a check of 7,74 billion tanzanian swings (about 2m euros) from the country's government on Wednesday for the dark-coloured blue violins.

Mr. Laimzer found the precious stones, which are about the size of an arm, in a tank mine in the north of the country, the only place in the world where this mineral exists, writes Independent, translates Periscopi.

The first stone weighed 9,27kg, while the second weighed 5.1kg, according to the mine ministry's spokesman.

There will be a big party tomorrow,” told Mr. Laizer The BBC during Wednesday day. He added he intended to invest part of the money in his community in Simaniiro's district in Manyara.

I want to build a shopping mall and a school. I want to build school near my house. There are many poor people who cannot afford to send children to school,” he said.

Tanzania's president, John Maguful, has praised Laizer during a phone call that was broadcast live on television. /Periscope
