Democratic League of Kosovo Chairman Isa Mustafa, questioned by Journal Express whether he will be part of the negotiating team as chairman of one of the biggest parties in the country, has declared he has not yet declared
“The delegation has not been appointed yet”, Mustafa has said.
However, the LDK chief said he does not expect the delegation to expand.
I don't expect this time the delegation to have to expand”, Mustafa told Express.
Otherwise, the White House's nominated for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Richard Green, announced that the governments of these two countries have agreed to meet on 27 June at the White House, as the parties have agreed to remove barriers to dialogue.
Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti, days ago, presented a dialogue platform at the Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts, where he said the final agreement with Serbia requires mutual recognition and membership of Kosovo at the UN.
He has invited the opposition to join the dialogue process.
Meanwhile, he has stressed that talks with Serbia would lead him as Kosovo prime minister.
“Dialog heads the country prime minister, I will not compete with anyone because my competencies are clear and they are sworn to the Constitutional Court's Act. I have also sent an invitation to the opposition to present the government's approach to Kosovo-Serbia dialogue. Part of the opposition has silenced our invitation. The territorial integrity of the Republic of Kosovo is undisputed. Agreements must be reached with mutual recognition”, Hoti has declared.
And President Hashim Thaci has declared that Kosovo is ready to resume dialogue with Serbia.
He has stated that after the removal of reciprocity measures, Kosovo has removed any pretext Serbia has used to avoid dialogue.
“I express gratitude and am encouraged to remove any pretext Serbia has used to flee dialogue with the state of Kosovo. Kosovo is clear what it requires in dialogue, requires mutual recognition and speeding up the road to membership in the United Nations. Above all, Kosovo in this process is together with the United States of America and all other allies. So we don't have anything to hesitate about is a safe journey, we have hope and we believe that this will be concluded according to the will of the country's”, Thaci said.
Talks between Kosovo and Serbia have been suspended in November 2018, when the Haradinaj government imposed a 100 per cent tax on Serbian and Bosnia and Herzegovina goods.
Since then, Belgrade has conditioned the return to the negotiating table with the removal of the tax, and recently the reciprocity.
