Social-Democrat Initiative Chairman Fatmir Limaj has declared it is the last moment that the position and opposition set aside the dyvergences they have and jointly harmonise an action strategy with a more comprehensive involvement.
Limaj has said the statement issued by the Prosecutor's Office Specialised on June 24, 2020, through which public opinion was announced that this prosecutor had handed over an indictment against the president of the country. Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, chairman of Party Democratic Kosovo, Kadri Wessel and other leaders Army Liberation, whose names are not mentioned, has caused major concerns of Kosovo citizens.
Limaj behind these concerns, has decided to come up with a statement stressing that however serious injustices are against the individual and collective fates that have been done and are being done against freedom fighters, we must show real leadership in these difficult circumstances for our state.
“As never before, is responsible for political forces leaders and state institutions Kosovo to put away our human emotions, however natural they may seem, and to act with great calm in the interest of the country. It is the last time we leave our emotional resentments and actions and coordinate our actions to testify that we truly place the interests of our country above individual interests. It is the last moment that the position and opposition of the opposition set aside the dilemmas they have and together to harmonise an action strategy with a more comprehensive involvement. The co-ordination of our policies at these very important moments would send a clear message and the declination of our citizens and international friends who want the good of the state Kosovo. The co-ordination of our policies at these very important moments would send a clear message and the declination of our citizens and international friends who want the good of the state Kosovo”, said in Limaj's statement.
Full statement:
Statement issued by the Prosecutor's Office Specialised on June 24, 2020, through which public opinion was announced that this prosecutor had handed over an indictment against the president of the country. Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaci, chairman of Party Democratic Kosovo, Mr. Kadri Wessel and other leaders Army Liberation, whose names are not mentioned, has caused major concerns of Kosovo citizens.
These concerns have taken on even greater proportions because of the context through which the process of normalising interstate relations between Kosovo and Serbia is going through, so I see it necessary to come up with this public statement;
1. Since the end of the war, it has sometimes been demanded that leaders and soldiers Army Liberation of Kosovo face international justice institutions and those in Kosovo, led by international prosecutors and judges and has never happened to try to evade justice. Despite the individual and family suffering that have corroded these processes, all the accused have been dignifiedly introduced and have finally appeared fair and innocent.
2. Sometimes and for years I have been the subject of this nature's judicial processes, and as is known publicly, in all judicial processes against me I have proved innocent.
3. The bad experience of being deprived of freedom, deprived of being in the family circle, and deprived of the right to act with collaborators in building up the country is a feeling that cannot be described in words, which is experienced.
Therefore, I understand all those to whom the name was mentioned in the aforementioned statement, their families and all those who entered the remaining “category, in which any who fought for the state's liberation of the country committed genocide against the Albanian nation in the Kosovo.
4. No matter how serious the injustices are against the individual and collective fates that have been done and are being done against the freedom fighters, we must show real leadership under these difficult circumstances for our state.
5. As never before, it is responsible for leaders of political forces and state institutions Kosovo to put away our human emotions, however natural they may seem, and to act with great calm in the interest of the country.
6. It is the last time we leave our emotional resentments and actions and coordinate our actions to testify that we truly place the interests of our country above individual interests.
8. In this way, we would contribute to the reduction of tensions and reinforcement of peace in this part of Southeast Europe vital to our strategic journey for state integration Kosovo on The EU and NATO.
9. Only united and putting state interests first Kosovo, we will face with dignity all the challenges we face.
Respectfully
Fatmir Limaj
