The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Kosovo will deliver five K9 Kosovo Police Units today. The event will be held at Kosovo Police Headquarters, starting at 11:00.
As K9 Kosovo Police dogs are trained in detecting contaminated baro or weapons, new technologies, using non-traditional materials such as polymers, are increasingly being used in small arms production.
Through the German government-financed Help for Combating Illegal Arms (CIAT) project in Kosovo, five K9 dogs have been provided for the Kosovo Police, which will be trained by the K9 certified K9 instructors for sniffing the polymer.
Dogs will be an excellent addition to the K9 Unit because it will help the agency implement the law in effectively identifying illegal weapons trafficked, especially those from polymer.
