Kosovo airlines- Albania and <x0)

A law denied for many years is now being realised after the agreement on opening the air corridor between Kosovo authorities and Albania, supported by NATO.

And Albania's ambassador to Kosovo, Kemal Minxhozi, is considering such a decision a step towards the new perspective for both states.

Ambassador Minxhozi an interview for Kosova Pres, stresses that Albania and Kosovo should take advantage of their potential, and so the Kukes Airport and others will be in the service of Kosovo as if the “austrada” Interference 400 Kv will soon be exploited.

The “is very positive, not only for the level of formal co-operation but also concrete. Albania is now in a process for opening several airports in Albania, the Kukes airport is soon expected. Work is continuing at Vlora Airport, of course the Tirana airport is. So the corridors of Albania and Kosovo are especially open during the summer period, in the tourist period”, Minxhozi says.

The diplomat from Albania has also said that airlines are a common asset that can be used for various tourist companies both inside and outside Kosovo and Albania.

This is good news, because it has been a denied right that today is coming true. Of course, we'll see how it applies to practice in the coming days, but it's happy news. We must keep in mind that a sea of Albania is the sea of Kosovo and a mountain of Albania. Even airlines are a common asset that can be used for various tourist companies inside and outside Kosovo and Albania... We should wait, not the time to set dates, but the important thing is that making such a decision opens a new perspective in practice”, he says.

Ambassador Minxhozi has also said that one of the key projects expected to be in operation soon is the energy project for the 400Kv Intervention, which was named a major project, opening a new chapter towards integration of the two countries.

There are some important decisions between us, one of the decisions is the question of interconjection, which is something very big and I believe it will be implemented very soon. It's a huge achievement, but we have to turn these achievements into a concrete positive that doesn't remain in slogans, but in concrete work how we will transform them to increase co-operation. Co-operation is important, it doesn't matter where it is produced in Albania or in Kosovo, but the important thing is that we have to consume each other's products. We should look at each other's assets”, claims Minxhozi.

The 400Kv Intersection line, also called <x0-autostrada energy” connecting the two states, is a draft designed and completed years ago, for the construction of which took tens of millions of euros. The financing was made by the German bank KfW. Kosovo's 400kV Interconnection line is a total length of 241.1km, of which 151.1km extends to Albania's territory and 90km extend to Kosovo territory.
