LDK Chairman Isa Mustafa commemorates the LDK deputy chairman, activist Nekibe Kelmendi, on the nineth anniversary of his separation from life.
Today we remember the prominent activist and intellectual woman, the heroin woman, the great lady of the LDK and Kosovo, Nekibe Kelmendi, who devoted all her vital engagement to Kosovo's statehood.
It was the activist and pillar of the Democratic League of Kosovo, a fighter for human rights and freedoms and the strategy of building the rule of law.
Nekib did not give up at any moment in spite of the severe injuries suffered from the loss of her favorites, her husband and two sons. Bajram Kelmendi and two boys were the motive for her work, engagement and the ideal for building an independent and democratic state.
With her outstanding personality, she succeeded in turning her great pain into strength and motive for forming and consolidating the country she devoted her entire life to.
She was and remains an icon of the Albanian woman, who in the most difficult moments found the wisdom and courage not to stop her work until the most subtle sacrifices.
Nekibet Kelmendi's name, the minister of justice, remains unforgettified and has left lasting traces of Kosovo's history.
Along with Nekiben, we commemorate all Albanian women and mothers who, in spite of their resistance, pain and challenges in their lives, did not stop working for our statehood”.
